Anchor’s management team is a crucial piece to providing quality tailored and/or adaptable support to individual with complex special needs.
Each individual has different needs, and therefore Anchor’s management model encompasses an approach that provides close oversight of all of its associates. Anchor’s Management team will be responsible for overseeing coordination of schedules, oversight of programming goals, mentorship of its associates as well as coordination and support for the individual and their family.
Our Management team is approachable, and will help individuals and their families work through any stressful and tenuous situations that may arise as a result of the individuals’ complex needs. Through Anchor's management, each individual and their family can be rest assure that there will be someone available to them to help problem solve and/or work through a variety of difficult scenarios.
Christina Smith is the Service Director at Anchor Specialized Support Services. Christina oversees the daily operations of the program. She works closely with agencies and families to ensure that exceptional services are provided by Anchor’s Associates.
Christina has worked in social services for over 19 years. She has an extensive background in children’s mental health, dual diagnosis, behavioral management as well as the adult developmental sector in both nonprofit and for-profit agencies. She has ten years’ experience in a management role and leading teams.
Christina enjoys being an active member in her community. She volunteered for six years as a board member with Young Carer’s Initiative.
She had several roles while serving on this board; Secretary, Chair and past chair. She has continued to volunteer with this amazing nonprofit by sitting on their Governance committee. Christina currently volunteers at Contact Niagara on their Regional Placement Advisory Committee and recently joined Advancing Crystal Beach nonprofit as a board member.
Sherry Qin is a Board Certified Behavior Therapist at Anchors Specialized Support Services, where Sherry is the clinical supervisor of the Behavior Consultation Program. Sherry has completed her Masters of Applied Disability Studies at Brock University and obtained BCBA certification at the Behavior Analyst Certification Board. Sherry has over 8 years of experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder, dual diagnosis and complex needs. She has worked in the public and private sector providing direct service, staff training, consultation, conducting functional behavior assessments and writing individualized behavior plans.
